Autumn is an arrangement of the third movement of my first brass quintet,Seasons (BIM ENS46). This slow, melodious work that depicts the beautiful melancholy of the autumn season was arranged for flugelhorn and piano at the suggestion of my University of Wisconsin faculty colleague John Aley for his recording of music for trumpet and piano which also includes my Sonata for trumpet and piano (BIM TP290). I then made also the piece available for tuba or euphonium and piano (BIM TU140), and trombone and piano (BIM TB71). The premiere performance with tuba and piano was given, in 2008, by Tom Curry.
