THE EXTENDED 120 HYMNS FOR BRASS BAND OR WIND BANDSCORING - INFO:The extended edition of the 120 Hymns for Wind Band/Brass Band har been fresly engraved with a music font specially commissioned by Wright and Round for ease of reading. The publishers have added a frther twenty Christmas Carols making the book unique in that it contains everything needed for worship in one book.As in the previous edition the arrantements are designed to be used by four players upwards. WIND BAND - Apart from the melody and bass, to which the allocation of parts is obvious, the 2nd and 3rd trumpet (+2nd and 3rd Clarinet) parts, 1st and 2nd horn adhere strictly to the alto part, etc.It will be seen that the correct choice of instruments, e.g. flute, 1st and 2nd horn, E-flat bass will provide a four-part balance. BRASS BAND - Apart from the melody and bass, to which the allocation of parts is obvious, the 2nd and 3rd cornet, solo and 1st horn adhere to the alto part - similary the 2nd horn and 1st paritone to the tenor part. (Lest this should appear to leave the tenor line weak, it should be hoted that in the main this is strenghened by 2nd baritone and tenor trombone in such a way to ensure the balance of alto and tenor lines with a normal complement). The Euphonium is independen t but usually doubles either the melody or the bass.It will be seen that the correct choise of instruments, e.g. solo cornet, 1st and 2ndt horn, E-flat bass wil provide a four-part balance. Apart from plain utility, imaginative conductors will realise the potentiality of contrasted groups which will rest sections of the band in long hymns and also provide changes of tone colour comparable with the organist's registration. CONTENT1. The songs are rather on the melancholical side and pupils who like Yann Tiersen or Ludovico Einaudi will most probably like them. Most of them are written in c major or a minor and thus a good exercise for transposing them into different keys once learned. The notes of the pieces range with some exceptions from the big octave up into the 2nd octave, while one reaches to a3. The pieces are dense and close in the hand, with this encouraging to learn a rather relaxed technique. Many of them deal with overcoming technical challenges for example note repetition with finger changes, study of alberti bass, practice of thirds played legato, scale passages, weight transfer on melody line and balance between the hands, rapid close finger studies, chord studies, broken chords, five finger groups, wrist staccato, crossing over with arm movement, studies with fixed fingers.  BUT: These are not etudes, the mentioned points are built into the pieces, sometimes just as a passage or only in one hand.

ERGOclarClarinet support systemThe ERGOclar clarinet playing support is specially designed to enable the player to keep his or her hands and upper body completely relaxed. It removes the need for the right thumb and arm to support the weight of the clarinet. Instead, the ERGOclar will transmit the weight of the instrument to the chair, or to the belt pouch the player may wear. Freeing up the upper body can also help the most important aspects of wind playing: breathing and airflow. With the weight of the instrument taken off of the body, the players touch and feel for playing are improved and stresses are reduced.In the long run, the chances to get some playing related pains or even injuries diminishes radically.If your clarinet does not have a vertical neck strap ring in the thumb rest, you first place the attaching ring with an Eye Bolt to the clarinet between the upper joint and middle joint, above the thumb rest. It is similar with the RMD Riedl Marching Lyre ring.You need 10 to 15 seconds to do this.This additional ring is included in all ERGOclar kits.Place the support head, the penguin, on top of the rod and the other spring below the penguin so that the spring is pointing downwards.Put the support rod inside the black support tube and wrap the rubber band of the tube around the larger and lower screw of the spring lock.Plug the ERGOPenguin head to the neck strap ring of your instrument (on right) or the Eye Bolt (on left).
