It can be used as a crash substitute or in can enhance hihats, snares and other instruments by resting the chain links on them! The do not make a lot of acoustic noise by design, you plug them in using a standard 1/4 guitar cable and create the sound you want. Plug it in to your audio interface, DI-box, guitar pedals or pretty much whatever you want and go crazy!
