The Revolutionary Modular Flagship Cajon
The Sela Iconic Cajon with Ziricote playing surface is a real game changer for percussionists as it combines three instruments in a single Cajon. The interchangeable drum heads, known as íons, are located on the side walls of these innovative cajons. Each íon has its own percussion sound. The Cajon is supplied with Cuban íon and Turkish íon as standard. Three further variants are optionally available: Guinean íon, Kenyan íon and Peruvian íon.

Cuban íon The Cuban drum head, inspired by Afro-Cuban percussion, is handmade from 100% natural goatskin. Each skin is unique in thickness and colour.For more flexibility and durability, we recommend treating the skin with vegetable fat.This allows the sound to be adapted to the individual playing style.

Turkish íon The Turkish íon, inspired by Turkish percussion, is equipped with a blue or green synthetic skin that is insensitive to moisture and climatic conditions. It is very light and should be protected from sharp objects. The low thickness ensures high responsiveness and a strong sound projection with powerful mids and bright highs. It is particularly suitable for the Turkish playing technique.
