A vivid and explosive piece that is combining the Nordic tonality with impressions from the whole world like Latin, Balkan and Jazz. In the first part you'll meet its main theme in many settings, most of the times in a symphonic way, sometimes mixed with a tendency of Latin and Balkan influence. The second part, built on a theme in Norwegian style, has also been treated in many ways, even with a short jazz-waltz. The finale from the first part wraps this inspired piece up.

Helge Hurum, leader of tha Radio Big Band in our public radio, is know for his ability to combine folk music with both the classical tradition and the jazz feel. Often used as a contest piece.
