Larsen Cello Strings Sovereign
Why choose Larsen Sovereign for Cello?
Command your sound
Larsen Sovereign is about control and definition. The sound speaks immediately and clearly, allowing musical ideas to come across exactly as intended. Whether shaping short, energetic gestures or sustained, expressive lines, the strings respond without hesitation or blur.
Controlled ferocity with lyrical warmth
At the heart of Sovereign lies a strong, resonant core sound that anchors the entire set. From the depth and growl of the C string through to the warmth and clarity of the A string. This allows you to explore the broad palette of colours, from raw, edgy textures to refined, lyrical expression.
Built for precision and confidence
Sovereign responds instantly under the bow, particularly in fast passages and short strokes where clarity is essential. The strings offer optimal resistance under the bow while maintaining a light, agile feel, giving you both control and freedom across all dynamics with exceptional long lifetime that preserves response, stability and tonal integrity over time.
Engineered to push the boundaries
Each string is newly formulated and individually engineered to fulfil a precise role within the set, giving you the freedom to push the boundaries of expression and sound. Flexible steel rope cores in the lower strings unlock depth, harmonic richness and immediate response, while high-density tungsten windings on the G and C strings deliver darkness, power and projection without added stiffness. The result is a lower register that speaks with authority while remaining agile and clearly defined. The stainless steel wound A string has a beautiful warm and focused voice, completing a balanced set with seamless response, stable intonation and a consistent feel from C to A.
For the soloistic cellist
Developed through close collaboration with professional artists, Larsen Sovereign is tailored to the needs of advanced and solo-performing cellists. Offered in one carefully calibrated true medium tension of all four strings, the set provides the optimal balance of projection, control and flexibility.
