Concerto Op 3 for Violin and Piano, Antonio Vivaldi Edited by Ferd.Küchler and Kurt Herrmann
Antonio Vivaldi, born in 1678 in Venice, was direcor of the music school there when he died in 1743. He was one of the most fruitful composers of the 18th century, the number of his concertos for violin reaching up to about 100, The best of his works were considered in his time already, in all civilized countries, as models of Italian Concerto.
The present concerto in G major, stranscribed for piano and transposed in F major by J.S. Bach, is one of the easiest classical compositions for the left hand and an instructive piece of a high order. Such young violinists as have already studied the 100 Etudes for the violin, elementary and intermediate grades, by F. Kuechler, are introduced by this concerto, in the most convenient way, to the classical concertos for violin.
Bowing technics and execution with the proper phrasing, are developed and formed in the most advantegous manner by his Vivaldi masterpiece.
