Gretsch Drums celebrates its 135th anniversary with a commemorative snare that's sure to please any player or avid collector. The 135th Anniversary Snare Drum's hand-engraved, solid aluminum shell bears the handiwork of master engraver and known drum enthusiast Eric Sooy of Black Swamp Percussion. A classic 8-lug design, mini-claw hooks, and 301 single-flanged hoops all look back to Gretsch's drummaking heritage. And like many snares in the USA Signature Series, the G4160-A135 features Gretsch's Lightning Throw off and convenient snap-in drum key holder. USA-made Remo Permatone heads top the shell. A limited-edition deluxe carrying case is included with every order.

Solid aluminum shell
The Gretsch 135th Anniversary Snare Drum starts with a rolled shell of thick aluminum stock, lathed down for a thinner waist and thicker edges. This gives the snare tremendous projection and sensitivity to handle whatever tuning and application you throw at it.

Luxurious hand engraving
The entirety of each 135 Anniversary Snare Drum's shell has been hand engraved, without power tools, by Eric Sooy of Black Swamp Percussion. A commemorative "Gretsch 135" engraving marks the shell opposite the badge.

301 hoops
The hallmark of the 135th Anniversary's hardware is its 301 single-flanged hoops. These give the 135th Anniversary Snare Drum a rousing open tone and long, lingering sustain. A selection of classic and forward-looking hardware, including a Lightning Throw Off, mini-claw hooks, and a classic round badge, appoints the shell.
