GILL BAY

'Gill Bay' är en nyskriven komposition av Jan Utbult.
Namnet är inspirerat av den populära badviken 'Hjälvik' på Öckerö, nära den plats där kompositören bor. Stycket är en långsam jazzvals noterad i 3/4-takt.
Med en melodi som snabbt lägger sig på minnet och stämmor som är polyfoniska och melodiska blir 'Gill Bay' en favorit både på repetition och konsert.

'Gill Bay' is a brand new composition by Jan Utbult.
The title of the piece is inspired by the beach «Hjälvik» on Oak Island (just outside Gothenburg, Sweden) where the composer lives.
'Gill Bay' is a slow jazzwalz in 3/4-time.
With its simple melody and polyphonic parts this piece is shure to be a hit both for the players and audience.

JAN UTBULT

Jan Utbult er en av Skandinavias mest etablerte forfattere av musikklærebøker. Blant hans mest kjente bøker finner vi 'Startklart', 'Blåsbus', 'Blåståget', 'Blåsbanken', 'Pianosprell' og 'Gitarrbus'.
Utbult er utdannet ved Musikkhøyskolen i Gøteborg med trombone og musikkteori som hovedfag. Han har arbeidet blant annet ved Musikk- og kulturskole i Härnösand.
Siden 1998 har han arbeidet med lærebøker på heltid og har, i tillegg til de svenske bøkene, også utgitt tysk- og engelskspråklige utgaver av flere av sine læreverk.

Jan Utbult are one of Scandinavia's most established authors of music tutor books. 'Startklart', 'Blåsbus', 'Blåståget', 'Blåsbanken', 'Pianobus' and 'Gitarrbus' are his most popular publications, used by students all over Scandinavia.
He is educated at the Academy of Music in Gothenburg with trombone and music theory as main subjects. For several years he worked as teacher at the Härnösand School og Music.
Since 1998, Jan Utbult has worked full time as author of music tutor books. Several of his most popular books are published in German and English language in addition to his native Swedish.
