«Ouverture» was commissioned by Peder Rensvik and the Kristiansund Festspillene arts festival, and was premiered in Molde Cathedral on 14 September 2019. The work is a tribute to Margaret and Peder Rensvik for their huge contribution to the music life of Kristiansund and the surrounding areas. Throughout the work can be heard quotations from pieces the couple have often performed, and in the middle section a traditional tune from Smøla appears as a reminder of the abundance of beautiful folk music in this part of Norway.
