The Clarinet Family by Henri SELMER Paris

Although the Boehm system clarinet in Bb is the most widely known member of the clarinet family, it also has a number of cousins that share the limelight with contemporary musicians today.

EVOLUTION

WOOD + RESIN: THE BEST OF BOTH WORLDS
The interior diameter of the upper joint is enlarged, only on the upper half, to combine the resin. The final boring is then done in a traditional way by hand and with our same tools.
The resin used is a new patented resin. It is from a biomass that does not contain bisphenol A (BPA). BPA has been substituted with molecules derived from biomass.

INCREASED LONGEVITY WITH A 10-YEAR WARRANTY
Henri SELMER Paris solved the problem of cracks on the most critical part of the instrument, the upper joint, and offer a 10-year warranty.

THE ACOUSTIC QUALITY OF THE PRESERVED WOODEN CLARINET
Scientific studies along with blind acoustic tests demonstrated that there is no notable difference in sound between traditional clarinets and Evolution* system clarinets.

Bb & A Selmer Paris clarinets: a wide range of acoustic options

B flat and A SAINT-LOUIS CLARINETS

The 'Saint Louis' Anniversary model embodies all the progress achieved by SELMER Paris over the century. It represents the successful culmination of 100 years of technical expertise and profound dialogue with artists.
The Bb and A 'Saint Louis' clarinets feature a versatile personality with the capacity to meet the needs of different playing styles. Rich, open sound, easy blowing emission, broad dynamics, balanced tuning and great projection capacity are just some of the quality features that characterise the SELMER Paris clarinet philosophy.

B flat and A RECITAL CLARINETS

A sophisticated bore, made from specially selected and worked ebony, has made possible the genesis of a particular tone; as a noble and living matter, the wood itself gives the 'Recital' its warm, rich and round tone, with an exceptional presence (the diameter of the joints is bigger than on a traditional model, by two millimetres). A significant reserve of power and dense tonal material favour a generous playing style.
A very expressive instrument for those who are looking for 'a sound'. An original design for an acoustic result of rare quality.

B-flat and A SIGNATURE CLARINETS

'SIGNATURE' is a unique and unrivalled concept.
The tone, the right compromise between roundness and presence, is a subtle mix of sweetness and energy. A wide dynamic range facilitates pianissimo and unsaturated fortissimo, with a perfectly homogeneous tone over the various registers. A centred and easy emission provides a high level of control.
The tuning of the B-flat clarinet is perfectly balanced, featuring higher toneholes and thumb rest plates : in addition, it is available in two different pitches (440 or 442).

Its flexibility gives an optimum homogeneity and tuning. A very swift setting to vibration ensures an excellent response and a great versatility.
Marked by the roundness and warmth of the Selmer Paris clarinets, the Privilege has its own technical specificities: a slender bell for more generous low tones and a bore (0.575), the largest of the whole line, for an excellent playing comfort. An exceptional projection, a clear-cut detaché, a great sound quality for a strong presence in the orchestra.
A flexible instrument with a refined design and careful ergonomics.
