Description
The Steven Mead Ultra series is the newest evolution in euphonium mouthpieces. The outer shape has been changed to add more mass which increases projection. An evolved cup shape combines the best elements of a funnel shape and bowl shape to produce a classic euphonium/baritone sound with better support and response in the upper registers.
Inspired by his top-selling Ultra X series, Steven Mead modified the rim contour and inner edge, designed a new curve in the bass of the cup, and modified the backbore for added projection to create a mouthpiece with improved airflow, tonal consistency, and effortless articulation.
