Description
The shank of this mouthpiece has been very carefully engineered to fit all tubas with the standard Euroshank-type fitting (marked U) and the standard American shank fitting (marked Y).

Original lead-pipes from Meinl-Weston, B & S, Yamaha, Eastman, and Miraphone were used in this process. The exact matching of mouthpiece and instrument receiver and leadpipe is vital to achieve the correct response from modern tubas.

AT2U / AT2UY  (Cup Diameter 32.8mm  /  Bore 9.53mm)

This new mouthpiece designed by Aaron Tindall is the most popular of the range, and is designed for use in 5/4 CC tubas.
It has a large cup which is a mixture of a funnel and a bowl with a large throat, and is slightly shallower than the AT1U.
This mouthpiece has already proved a big hit with many leading American players. The rim is designed by Warren Deck and is one of the most comfortable on the market.
It features just the right amount of width and bite to give the player a sense of comfort and stability. This mouthpiece produces a rich and vibrant sound with plenty of focus.

It has a deep Helleberg-style design with slightly straighter sides than the AT2U blending into a concave cup.

AT4U / AT4UY  (Cup Diameter 32.8mm  /  Bore 8.30mm)

This new mouthpiece designed by Aaron Tindall is designed for use in rotary valve CC tubas.
It has a bowl-shaped Fred Geib-style cup. Fred Geib (1871-1950) played tuba in the New York Philharmonic for, amongst others, Gustav Mahler and Richard Strauss.
He designed mouthpieces for Gratz and C.G.Conn. His bowl-shaped mouthpiece design brings out the best in rotary valve tubas, giving a great core to the sound.

Much like the AT1, the new AT0 is a slightly larger version boasting a deep funnel and bowl mixture into the walls of the cup.
It has a large bore like the AT1 and AT2 models at 9.52mm (.375) There is a little more interior rim diameter, but still designed by Warren Deck one of the most comfortable rims ever made, featuring just the right amount of width and bite to give the player a sense of comfort and stability.
