MICHAEL OBERAIGNER SIGNATURE SERIES

With the perfect balance and a beautiful sound, JGpercussion presents the Michael Oberaigner Signature Series of timpani mallets.
All of the mallets in the Michael Oberaigner Signature series are made from strong, hand-selected bamboo that is perfectly balanced and expertly matched.
Mallets with a ball-stick design (MO 1-5) are hand-sewn with the highest quality soft German felt. Models MO 6-10 feature layers of leather, sponge, and soft flannel.
Models MO 1-5 are made from bamboo 10mm in diameter, and models MO 6-10 are made from bamboo 11mm in diameter. Each stick is about 37cm long, and each mallet comes fitted with green mallet grips.

MO1 Shostakovich
Small felt core, covered with a single bag of German felt. A small and versatile ball stick with a quick sound. Even though its very small, its big enough to play the solos of Symphony no. 1 and Symphony no. 15. Michael Oberaigner

MO2 Beethoven
Small felt core, mushroom wrapped, and covered with German felt. Great for chamber orchestra and solo work.

MO3 Strauss
Medium felt core, covered with two layers of soft German felt. Capable of creating a big sound for large solo passages, yet also blends well with the orchestra.
This stick is versatile enough to go from big solos like Also Sprach Zarathustra, to more delicate passages like the Waltz from Der Rosenkavalier. Michael Oberaigner

MO4 Brahms

Large felt core covered with three layers of soft German felt. A dark and legato stick, for the most powerful passages in the repertoire.

MO6 Bartok
Small, soft chamois leather discs for an articulate yet warm sound. Perfect for chamber music, full orchestra, or recording work.
I use this for classical stuff like Beethoven where you need a lot of clarity and also for Bartok. Michael Oberaigner

MO7 Schwammschlägel Small
Re-created from 1849, these Sponge-headed mallets were originally designed by Felix Mendelssohns timpanist, Ernst Pfunt. A small composite core, covered with a layer of sponge then wrapped with liner felt. A truly unique sound.
The sound is very direct it can be soft enough to blend in, and warm enough for rolls you can also be very articulated, and go over the whole orchestra if you need. I like these for Mendelssohn Italian Symphony. Michael Oberaigner
