This is the stick Ive always wanted, and now I finally have it! It has been a long time coming but well worth the wait; every second." - Vinnie Colaiuta As one of the most revered and in-demand drummers of our lifetime, Vinnie Colaiutas hands were missing a drumstick that could cover all the bases for him both physically and musically. Working closely with the Vater craftsmen, even spending time on the Vater factory floor himself, Vinnie used various prototypes live, in the studio, and on the pad - paying keen attention to what worked and what didnt work for him with each. This evaluation process turned into fine-tuning specific key elements until landing on this final design, which simply putis the one! The grip size starts at .590 with a very subtle flare out to .600, then quickly back to .590 for a comfortable grip to a precisely calibrated taper for a great rebound, then finished off with a medium-sized acorn tip for a full but defined sound. This spec combination and a touch shorter length deliver a lathe-turned drumstick model that effortlessly covers the wide spectrum of music that Vinnie plays from jazz to heavy rock, and everything in between - while never letting him down in consistency, feel, sound, and durability. "I remember visiting Jacks Drum Shop in Boston when I was a student at Berklee, and that is where Vater all really startedin the basement of Jacks. Now look at what happened! At one point I was using sticks under a different brand that Vater was making for them and, quite frankly, I was always impressed with Vaters wood. The medium sized barrel tip delivers a defined ride cymbal tone without lacking volume to cut through while putting out full drum tones. All these elements make the 908 a great stick for playing at both medium to high tempos with fast fills and for also more straight ahead rock, groove playing. THE EXTENDED 120 HYMNS FOR BRASS BAND OR WIND BANDSCORING - INFO:The extended edition of the 120 Hymns for Wind Band/Brass Band har been fresly engraved with a music font specially commissioned by Wright and Round for ease of reading. The publishers have added a frther twenty Christmas Carols making the book unique in that it contains everything needed for worship in one book.As in the previous edition the arrantements are designed to be used by four players upwards. WIND BAND - Apart from the melody and bass, to which the allocation of parts is obvious, the 2nd and 3rd trumpet (+2nd and 3rd Clarinet) parts, 1st and 2nd horn adhere strictly to the alto part, etc.It will be seen that the correct choice of instruments, e.g. flute, 1st and 2nd horn, E-flat bass will provide a four-part balance. BRASS BAND - Apart from the melody and bass, to which the allocation of parts is obvious, the 2nd and 3rd cornet, solo and 1st horn adhere to the alto part - similary the 2nd horn and 1st paritone to the tenor part. (Lest this should appear to leave the tenor line weak, it should be hoted that in the main this is strenghened by 2nd baritone and tenor trombone in such a way to ensure the balance of alto and tenor lines with a normal complement).
