Rain Maker Majesty 52 cm
Soothing sounds of rain for relaxation and meditation
The rainmaker originates from the Atacama region in northern Chile, where it was played by the Diaguitas as a ritual instrument to call for rain. Today, the percussion instrument is often used in sound therapy and as background music for meditation.
The new Sela Rain Makers are made from high-quality steamed beech wood. The steaming process improves the hardness and durability of the bench and also gives it its characteristic warm color.
Each instrument features carefully rounded and polished edges, ensuring a smooth, comfortable feel in the hands. The top and bottom of the Rain Maker are covered with a soft layer of cork, which ensures a secure and cushioned stand and protects the wood. The Rain Maker is filled with many small beads which, when moved, start to ripple through the instrument, creating a sound reminiscent of rain. Depending on how heavily and fast the instrument is tilted, sounds ranging from a gentle drizzle to a heavy downpour can be created. Thanks to their unique design, Sela Rain Makers are capable of sustaining a continuous rain-like sound for several minutes, offering a deeply immersive acoustic experience.
