Sentimental Pebbles was originally written for Trumpet/Flugelhorn and organ as a wedding gift for my elder brother and his wife in 2003. Trumpetist Jonas Haltia premiered it with me accompanying on the organ during the ceremony in Oslo that year. Since then, I have arranged it for brass quintet, brass band and now concert band.

The present arrangement was commissioned by Sarpsborg janitsjar and conductor Frode Amundsen in 2023 to be premiered as part of their Norwegian Concert Band Competition program in 2024 with English horn and Trombone as soloists (from letter A/E and C respectively).

I have prepared this edition for alternative solo instruments which I think can suit the overall orchestration well:

Alternative 1a:
Trumpet in Bb or Flugelhorn

Alternative 1b:
Alto Saxophone in Eb

Alternative 2:
English horn (or Alto Saxophone in Eb) from Rehearsal mark A to B and from E to the end Trombone (or Trumpet/Flugelhorn) from Rehearsal mark C to D.
