So light youll forget its in your horn.
These mutes offer better instrument balance when in the bell and greatly reduce stress when playing.

Specially designed mini microphone
Microphone performance, its mounting position, and the surrounding mute design were all optimized to bring out the full potential of Brass Resonance Modeling

Brass Resonance Modeling Ver.2.0
Brass Resonance Modeling is original Yamaha technology that effectively cancels the characteristic closed sound of a mute, reproducing the open, natural sound of the unmuted instrument. This reduces stress on players by allowing them to practice and play freely without feeling restricted by the mute.

Brass Resonance Modeling utilizes three simultaneous processes to produce the realistic tone of the brass instrument

Player Mode

1. Cancel the distinctive mute sound
Sound picked up by the microphone at the end of the pickup mute is processed digitally to cancel out the characteristic closed sound of the mute.

2. Add the instruments natural sound
The natural sound that emanates from the bell and returns to the players ears when the instrument is played without a mute is reproduced and added.

3. Adjust left-right balance to match the players position
The timing, volume, and tone of the sound reaching the players left and right ears are individually adjusted, and reverb is added as needed to accurately simulate the feel of playing in a room or hall.

Personal Studio STJ offers two sound modes. The Player (PLY) mode allows the player to hear the natural sound of the instrument, while the Audience (AUD) mode delivers natural sound to the listener. In the AUD mode the audience hears the sound of the instrument being played in front of them, making it ideal for recording or online lessons.

Brass Resonance Modeling utilizes three simultaneous processes to produce the realistic tone of the brass instrument

Audience Mode

1. Cancel the distinctive mute sound
Sound picked up by the microphone at the end of the pickup mute is processed digitally to cancel out the characteristic closed sound of the mute.

2. Add the instruments natural sound
The natural sound that emanates from the bell and reaches the audiences ears when the instrument is played without a mute is reproduced and added, recreating the sound an audience hears when an instrument is played on stage.

3. Adjust left-right balance to match the players position
The timing, volume, and tone of the sound reaching the audiences left and right ears are individually adjusted, and reverb is added as needed to accurately simulate the feel of hearing the sound being played on stage from audience seating.

Reverb
Greater control over reverb lets users recreate the feeling of playing in environments ranging from small practice rooms that have relatively little reverberation to large halls with rich, dense reverberation.

Micro USB
When the Personal Studio STJ is connected to a computer or smart device via the supplied USB cable it becomes possible to record or take part in online lessons at home. No audio interface or complicated wiring is necessary. The Personal Studio STJ goes beyond being a personal practice tool, to a tool that lets the player connect with the world from home.

* An adapter is required for smartphone connection.

Rec'n'Share APP

Personal Studio STJ can be connected to the free RecnShare app for smart devices from Yamaha, making it possible to play along with audio data stored on the device and capture the performance as a sound recording or movie that can be shared online. RecnShare includes a function that can change the playback tempo of the original music, an AB repeat function that repeats playback of a specified A-B section, a function that can analyze and add an appropriate click track to the original music, and other features that make practice more productive and enjoyable.

Mute Euphonium Practice Denis Wick Travel 5587

Mute Baryton/Euphonium Travel Mute Denis Wick 5587 Steven Mead AluminiumDenis Wick is pleased to introduce a new compact, ultra-light in-bell mute for the euphonium. Weighing only 200 grams, this mute is perfect for the busy player who needs a mute that stores easily within the bell of the euphonium without protruding and fits easily in gig-bags and cases. It is free-blowing and resonant, but very soft indeed, making it perfect for both warming-up and for serious practice. The response is very even from pedal tones to the top of the range. It has excellent intonation in every register and is the most in-tune compact mute available. You will not disturb the neighbours when practising with this mute! It is finished with an internal cork damper and has thick high-quality neoprene pads that give a secure grip and dampen the sound to a barely audible tone. It emits approximately 5db less sound than comparable practice and silent mutes. It is perfect for near-silent practice at home, for use in hotel rooms or for quietly warming-up without disturbing fellow musicians.A leather strap is fixed to the top of the mute for easy insertion and removal, and this hand-spun mute is finished to the highest quality.Developed with Steven Mead, the new travel mute sets a new standard for compact in-bell mutes.

Mute Euphonium Cup Peter Gane (fixed)

PETER GANE MUTES - HANDMADE PROFESSIONAL QUALITY FIBRE MUTESHISTORYStarted in the winter of 1973 when, quite by chance, Peter was down at his local pub with his neighbour remarking that he was unable to find suitable fibre mutes for either himself or his students. This sparked off a lively discussion as his neighbour, Len, an auto electrician by trade, who also happened to be extremely skilled in moulding fibre glass canoes. A handshake was made and Len started to explore the challenges involved in producing a fibre glass mute fibre glass being the best quality material in use at that time.In simple terms Len measured the trombone bell and soon a wooden plug was made and from this a female mould. Over the next few months a number of mutes were made and tested: long ones, short ones, thick and thin all with a different choice of base material. Some worked well, some were a complete waste of time. More research was needed to gain sufficient technical information on acoustics, wavelengths, nodes, anti-nodes, displacement anti-nodes, cylindrical pipes both open and closed, harmonics, how they worked and how they affected sound quality and intonation both in practice and performance. Finally, a number of mutes were made that came close to being professionally acceptable. The only problem was the quality of sound produced by the fibre glass resin. This was not all that could be desired an alternative fibre material needed to be found.Eventually, and after quite some searching, this substitute material was found. Techniques of working with the new material by hand were gradually mastered by Len and requests for new designs of specialist handmade quality mutes began to arrive. Each new mute had to be designed, patterns made, each requiring its own mould, clamps and range of strong but flexible corks. Every new mute had to be tested by a top professional before being passed as suitable for sale.Orders began to flow and despite the process being labour intensive with some mutes taking days to cut, form, glue, shape, paint and finish, they are still flowing from the craftsmans bench some 40 years later. After Lens unfortunate demise in 2002, Gerry birch stepped in to save the mutes from extinction. Armed with little more than a book of designs, a box of moulds and his ability to make something from almost nothing, a skill he continues to utilise by repairing instrument deemed unrepairable by modern repairers, he resurrected the production of the mutes and has been instrumental in furthering the mutes to where they are today. Fast forward 15 years and the torch has been passed again. This time with all the necessary tools and knowledge to continue the production of Peter Gane Mutes and to fulfil the initial goal of the company. To provide brass players with quality fibre mutes. WHO IS PETER GANEPeter Gane is one of Britains leading brass specialists. At the age of 16 he won an open scholarship to study trombone at the Royal Manchester College of Music and at the age of 19 he became a member of the London Symphony Orchestra. A founder and former president of the British Trombone Association with many publications to his credit, Peter Gane has earned particular recognition for his work with young people. He has a long-standing association with the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain and the European Union Youth Orchestra where he has been professor of trombone since 1977 and 1984 respectively. The mutes start their life as a flat sheet before being cut, formed, glued, punched, riveted, scraped, sanded, corked, painted, varnished and stickered all by hand with the end result being a mute that works as well today as when they were first introduced more than 40 years ago. Slagverk Sonor 150th Anniversary Signature Shells Set, Bubinga/Beech w/Gold Hardware

Slagverk Sonor 150th Anniversary Signature Shells Set, Bubinga/Beech w/Gold HardwareFusing Legacy and modern TechnologyThe original SONOR Signature Series was introduced at the Frankfurt Musikmesse in 1980. It was the result of extensive scientific research commissioned by SONOR in the pursuit of building the most sonically and technically advanced high-end drum set of its time. The extremely deep and heavy 10.5mm beechwood shells were designed for the most unobstructed drum head vibration, resulting in the purest tone with the most resonance and projection. To say that the Signature Series raised the bar for high-end drums would be an understatement. It defined what high-end drums were supposed to be from that point on.The 150th Anniversary Signature Series Shell Sets are more than just a reissue of the original from the 1980s. They are a tribute which merges tradition and innovation by combining a replica of theSignature Series shell with contemporary state-of-the-art shell hardware features. To faithfully recreate the iconic Signature Series shell, 13 plies of selected German beech veneer are cross-laminated. As with the original, genuine Bubinga is used for the outer and inner ply of the shell. The stunning grain structure, various color shades and dark streaks of the Bubinga Pommelé (Guibourtia demeusii) used for this instrument add even more visual dimension. To emphasize the naturally grown beauty of the Bubinga veneer, the shells are finished with clear high gloss lacquer, which is applied in multiple lacquering and polishing stages by hand. All hardware on the drums is plated with 24-carat gold to offset the dark and saturated brown color of the veneer as well as create the ultimate luxurious experience. Finally, all drums receive individually numbered commemorative badges to certify the uniqueness of each 150th Anniversary Signature Series Shell Set.The 150th Anniversary Signature Series Shell Set is strictly limited to 75 pieces worldwide. 25 of which are made in the Heritage outfit featuring authentic Signature Series shell depths, whereas the remaining 50 use shallower, more contemporary depths.
