Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Te Deum laudamus KV 141
Mozart wrote his impressive Te Deum immediately before his first trip to Italy in 1769. After initial doubts about the authenticity of the work, the Te Deum has since been unequivocally attributed to Mozart. This song of praise was traditionally performed on important occasions such as coronations and peace celebrations, and Mozarts majestic orchestration and his virtuoso mastery of contrapuntal form make this a particularly striking work.
