Smith-Watkins Pro Level Mike Lovatt Bb Trumpet
Professional level Bb Trumpet 'ML' model designed by Mike Lovatt and Richard Smith, handcrafted and designed in Yorkshire, England. Designed to meet the needs of the serious trumpet player this model offers a large sound with the minimum of effort which is down to the design of the 'ML' leadpipe. A nice little touch are the laser etched 'Smith Watkins' finger buttons which come as standard on this model.
Mike has played with the top ten British Symphony Orchestras, London Brass, SuperBrass, BBC Concert Orchestra, BBC Big Band, Royal Ballet and Opera Orchestras. In 2013 Mike was awarded the degree Hon.RAM by the Royal Academy of Music and the position of Derek Watkins Chair of Trumpet. He is also Professor of Trumpet at the Royal College of Music. Mike is a design consultant for Smith-Watkins Trumpets, Cornets and Flugel Horns. Since 1994, he has played exclusively on Smith-Watkins Instruments made for him by Richard Smith.

MIKE LOVATT
Great chops Mike Quincy Jones
I have been lucky enough to work with Mike on a number of occasions both in the studio on commercial projects and in the LSO. Working with great players such as Mike is always a privilege with one of his strongest attributes being his versatility. There are very few players with his versatility which makes him a very special musician both on and off the concert platform.
Philip Cobb. Principal Trumpet, London Symphony Orchestra
There are musicians that one comes across in the course of decades of work, but it is rare to find a musician as capable, affable and to the core professional as Mike Lovatt. He and his trumpet speak with one voice and it is an education to witness his music-making. Any student of this instrument, any student of music, would be privileged to have his guidance.
Jesse Norman. New York
this is the working tool of a professional, not a Pimped! up play thing.
