Ujamaa was the response to a commission from the Trondheim Jazzfestival in 2008.
In this score some changes have been made, but a central in place the work is still taken by the folk singer, who moves with her intuitive singing like a breath of feminine air from continent to continent. Europe, Africa, America, Asia and Australia are seen from the standpoint of a quick visit. Can art (Let us be lifted by arts) help the citizens of the world in their self-inflicted predicament?
