Organ Sonata No. 4 ? BWV 528, Andante

Dette arrangementet av Johann Sebastian Bach sin Andante fra Orgel Sonate No. 4 ble til under Covid. Det ble mange lange dager i isolasjon, og jeg kom over den islandske pianisten Vikingur Olafsson sin klaver versjon.
Det var så vakkert og klangfullt fremført, og en versjon for blåsere og slagverk vokste frem i mitt hode. I arrangementet har jeg forsøkt å finne de vakreste klangene i et blåseorkester, samt å utfordre alle grupper likeverdig.

Det anbefales å lytte til Olafsson sin innspilling for å forstå hva jeg ønsket å oppnå med arrangementet. Satsen ble fremført av Opus 82 under NM Janitsjar 2022.

This arrangement of Johann Sebastian Bach Andante from Organ Sonata No. 4 was created under the Covid times. Under the long days of isolation, I found the recording of the Islandic virtuoso Vikingur Olafsson.
A fantastic recording, and An arrangement for windensemble grew in me. I have tried to find the most beautiful sounds of the windband, and challenge the whole band.
